What this does
You put a QR code where customers can see it. Someone scans it, takes a photo of their meal or their haircut or whatever you do, and then lands straight on your Google review page with that photo ready to attach.
The photo is the trick. Asking someone to "leave us a review" is a chore. Asking them to take a picture of something they are already enjoying is not, and once they have taken it they are most of the way to writing the review.
Setting up your own funnel
One-off, takes a couple of minutes.
- Open the builder page and sign in with the password.
- Paste the Google Maps link for your business. The share link from the Maps app is fine.
- Fill in your business name and the wording customers will see.
- Pick your colours, and add a logo if you host one.
- Copy the link it gives you, or download the QR code to print.
Printing a QR code people will actually scan
- At least three centimetres across, larger if it will be read from a distance.
- Plain black on white scans most reliably. Clever colours on a busy background often fail.
- Leave clear white space around the edge, or scanners struggle to find it.
- Always test the printed code with a real phone before putting it out on tables.
Where the photos go
Onto the customer’s own phone, and nowhere else. The funnel saves them to their device so they can attach them inside Google’s review box. Nothing is uploaded to us and we never see them.
On an iPhone the save goes through the share sheet. On Android it downloads. That difference exists because Android’s share sheet often has no "save" option at all.
What it will not do
It will not write the review, suggest words, or filter out unhappy customers. Steering only positive reviewers to Google is against Google’s policy and can get a listing penalised, so the tool sends everyone to the same place.
Your privacy
Customer photos never leave their phone: they are saved to the device, not uploaded. Your funnel’s settings travel inside the link itself, so there is no database of businesses and nothing for us to lose.
Common questions
Do customers need to install anything?
No. It opens in whatever browser their phone already has.
Can I change the wording later?
Yes, but it produces a new link, so you would need to reprint the QR code. Get the wording right before printing.
What if the review button goes to the wrong business?
The Place ID was resolved incorrectly. Look up your official Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder and paste that into the builder instead of the share link.
Does it work for any business?
Any business with a Google Maps listing. Restaurants, salons, garages, dentists, trades.
